On February 8, a practical round of the third stage of the All-Ukrainian School Olympiad in Biology took place on the basis of the Department of Biology and Ecology with the participation of teachers of the Department of Human and Animal Anatomy and Physiology and specialists of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education.
Scientists and teachers of the departments offered the participants of the subject Olympiad 8 outstanding laboratory works, as close as possible to the practices of the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian and International Olympiad in Biology. The topics of the works included tasks from botany, zoology, human anatomy, biochemistry, aeropalinology, cladistics and ecology.
In particular, two laboratory works were offered for eighth-graders. The first, proposed by Associate Professor Victoria Gnezdilova, was to study the microscopic structure of beet and carrot roots, and the second, developed by senior teacher Nela Dolinko, was to know the bones of the human skeleton.
It is worth noting that all participants of the tour successfully coped with the tasks. According to the results of the evaluation, the winners will represent Ivano-Frankivsk region at the IV stage of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in Biology, which will soon take place in Odessa.
