A round table of the project partners was held in Warsaw PIMReC

On December 8, the University of Warsaw hosted the third round table to discuss the results of the implementation of the project “Adaptation of the former observatory on Mount Pip Ivan to the needs of the Alpine Rescue Training Center” (PIMReC) and its impact on the development of tourism business and border areas with the financial support of the European Union under the Program cross-border cooperation Poland – Belarus – Ukraine 2014 – 2020.

Participation in the round table, held on a mixed system of online and offline, was attended by the project coordinator, rector of the University of the Carpathian region named after Vasily Stefanyk Igor Tsependa; head of the infrastructure group PIMReC, vice-rector of the University of the Carpathian region Yaroslav Shinkaruk; head of the project management department, manager of PIMReC Lyubov Zinyuk; representatives of the University of Warsaw, headed by Jan Malicki, Director of the Studios for East European Studies at the University of Warsaw; project managers from Warsaw University Jan Tigelsky and Yuriy Tkachuk; expert of the infrastructure group from the University of Warsaw Nikolai Kolach; project partners of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region, headed by the head Vladimir Chernetsky, as well as the deputy head, project manager Mykola Burlak; the partners from the Mountain Volunteer Rescue Service are the Bieszczady Group (GOPR), headed by the head Krzysztof Szczurek and the project manager Karolina Kiver.

The partners shared the results of their work and discussed further steps towards the completion of the project on June 30, 2022.

The round table began with greetings addressed to the participants from the Director of the East European Studies Studios of the University of Warsaw Jan Malitsky and the rector Igor Zependa, as well as the heads of the rescue services of Ukraine and Poland Volodymyr Chernetsky and Krzysztof Schurek. After that, the head of the Main Directorate of the State Emergencies Service of Ukraine in Ivano-Frankivsk region, Volodymyr Chernetsky, spoke about the coordination meetings, round tables held within the framework of the project, joint training and trainings with Polish colleagues, about the rescue equipment purchased by Ukrainian rescuers.

Project manager from GOPR Karolina Kiver also presented the results of the work of the Polish rescuers.

“The project that we are implementing together with our partners is invaluable, because on the one hand, it supports good trends in tourism development, makes it possible to make tourist traffic as safe as possible, and on the other hand, it allows us to create a unique international scientific center“ Observatory ”,” he emphasized, opening the second part of the round table on the discussion of the infrastructure component of the project, the rector of the University of Prykarpattya Igor Tsependa.

In turn, Jan Malicki, director of the East European Studies Studios at Warsaw University, noted that the partners who are restoring the observatory building do so with maximum preservation of its authenticity in the exterior and interior design. After the end of the round table, Yan Malitsky presented certificates to the participants.
